Jay and Ambrose coming up in a few minutes.  Ambrose I think has the raw time to be in the lead but needs to clean up the one side.

Cam is top of the entire field! #1/190. That’s a big deal... and Ryan will be right there with him if he can drop a cone.

Much impress.

Cam and Ryan finished 1st and 2nd in AS, and they finished 1st and 4th overall in PAX.  Much impress indeed.

Cam was on fire all weekend, but his fastest left-side run was particularly remarkable -- it was faster than the times set by Ron Bauer and Joe Goeke in their BSP Miata, Ambrose and Jay in their SSP GT3, among others. It was only two tenths slower than Eric Clements managed in his CM car!!!

Cam and Ryan finished 1st and 2nd in AS, and they finished 1st and 4th overall in PAX.  Much impress indeed.

Ryan dropped to seventh on the overall index once everyone finished -- still damn impressive.

Yeah, I saw that run time and was amazed.

BTW, the posted (official?) results show Ryan in 4th:

Looks like you found an error in the official results. :) If you look carefully, everyone who ran in an indexed class was assigned an index of 1.000.

Sounds like Cam might have found a "trick" to getting a fast time/line through the course that others did not figure out.   Well done in any case!

My other thoughts were whether they changed the car setup at all between Crow's and Fontana?

Wonder if the more "slippery" surface of Fontana might have played a part in giving a better launch etc. for the Porsche over the M2 Competition of Bryan Heitkotter .... By the way, impressive for both to beat Bryan ... known to be an "alien".   :)

Also, now you might see others buying this car for the class!  hahahaha

Cam definitely raised a few eyebrows this past weekend! ;D

From a more technical standpoint, I have noticed that course design on slalom these few years has been on the tight side.

Last weekend at Fontana, the slalom was only 17-17.5m apart. And mostly between 18-22m at Lincoln. Cam and Ryan excel at blasting thru those tight slalom at high speed definitely gave them an edge. So folks, start practising tighter slaloms.   8)

Something agreed with the car on this course for sure. Cayman is definitely gonna hook up better than a Vette or M2 on low grip. Too bad we aren't at Heartland Park for Nats ;)

Course was slow, tight, short, and on asphalt...felt like home.

Can anyone fill us in on what happened for Cam to miss the Challenge.  Was it a car problem?

Had to leave, drove up to San Francisco to catch a flight the next morning.  Told the impound guy we weren't doing the challenge but apparently the message didn't get passed along....
