Results Website - Good, Bad?
« on: May 22, 2016, 02:53:56 PM »
I spent the morning today to put together a results website. I tried to set it up so it can be updated fairly easily.

Let me know if you guys like this format, I would like to hear any input you might have before I go any further with it

I like it! Filters out data we don't need most of the time and like he easy to read layout

Love the website Nick!

One comment... it appears that your results from the first event only accounts for best run of the day and not the best run of the morning and afternoon sessions combined.

^^ Oh really? Thanks for catching that. I should look into that right away, the script program generates the text results automatically so maybe I missed something when I ran it

Originally I wanted to make something I could link to on Facebook, or share with friends and family. I was just going to do a quick table, but before I knew it I had an entire little min-site made!

Yeah I went back and found that when I ran the scoring for the first event I somehow only captured one set of runs instead of both. That has been corrected now, thanks!

Wow -- somebody that understands/likes HTML!  Looks nice -- wish you had helped me out far sooner on scoring.

I am actually just re-learning it from scratch this year... last time I touched HTML Kurt Cobain had recently departed, haha

Nice job, Nick! One feature that would be nice is if the table columns were sortable. Here's an easy way to do that using javascript on the client side.

Cool, that is a neat feature

I will see what I can do, I haven't done anything in Java so that might be a new learning curve for me

Actually that was pretty straight forward... there you go Jim, sortable tables!

Excellent! Thanks.

And since no good deed goes unpunished... I noticed that the April 04 event has two competitors in "Stock" class, which no longer exists. I'm guessing they should be in the "Street" group; that might change the standings a wee bit.

I was noticing that as well, along with a split personality for "Jason P" that needs to be updated

FYI: those items above that were identified have been reflected in the standings now
