Depends on when this snow melts and the temps return to normal.   :'(

Registration open for May 28 & 29 @ Fort Macleod

May 28 - https://www.motorsportreg.com/events/sasc-fort-macleod-practice-novice-school-airport-southern-alberta-solosport-club-239159
May 29 - https://www.motorsportreg.com/events/sasc-fort-macleod-solo-event-1-airport-southern-alberta-solosport-club-601270

I think you mean April 28th and 29th not May.

Yes, you are right - I corrected the original post.  Next events are at Fort Macleod on Sat. April 28 and Sun April 29.

Is anyone going to check out the airport beforehand to make sure it isn't still under a meter of snow?

They plow the runway so I'm sure it is clear as we speak.  Also, they typically get less snow than Calgary and the melting is more than in Calgary so I'm sure we will be ok by then.

Snow has never been an issue there in the last 8 years.

Here's a photo from April 30, 2017 at the first event ... pretty typical conditions.  Of course, this year you never know with this climate warming and all!  :)

At the meeting today it was decided to push the first event back one week to Sunday, April 22nd due to snow still on the ground at the venue.

With more snow today, colder temperatures again, another week might still not be enough ::)

Why the negativity?  Within a day or two the snow will be gone.  Did you look at the forecast?  Remember how much it snowed last week and then melted much more?

I have no doubt we're good for next weekend and we could have run something yesterday too.

Think positive.  It works for your driving too!  It's a way of the mind.    :)

Are you entered? If not why do you care if we run or not??
Have you looked at the forecast? you dont think 9, 13 and 14 wouldn't melt whats left?
I am guessing you haven't lived in Alberta long to know that the weather changes so quick lol
When the day comes to decide if they want to move the date they will let us know.
Lets stay positive and burn some rubber!

I haven't entered as Im still on studded winters till the end of the month.  I don't mind at all if they run, nothing against it.   Had it stayed colder I liked the idea of doing a winter autocross and probably would have entered.  Even the snow added today will probably be gone by Wednesday.  When I made my initial comment my prediction was another 1-2 weeks of colder temperatures, very happy I was wrong.  As well I have lived in Alberta for 32 years, so I've seen it all.

Was just out at a job site ... most of the snow is gone already ... and the roads are dry in the NW where we got more snow than the airport area.

We will be good to go on the weekend.
