Hi all,

I was hoping you could help me class my Mini. It's a RHD 1996 Rover Mini Cooper S.

British Racing Green - White roof
1275cc Single Point Injection Motor
4 Speed Manual Transmission
93k
Seat Rail Extenders
K&N Cone filter
Nardi Wood Grain Wheel
12" Cooper Wheels
Dunlop SP Sport - 165/55R12
Rotella T6 5w40
Adjustable Hi-los
Test pipe (Replaced Cat)





I'd love to bring it out, but I don't know what to class it as. I've heard SM, E-prep, and probably a few other suggestions.
Appreciate the input.

Well, since I have the S2K, I need to justify the mini's existence. I'd like to at least attempt AutoX it.

To me SM looks right, so long as it can meet a minimum weight of 1510 lbs without driver.  Although if any Mini aficionados care to chime in it may clear things up (Rick or Mark)

The importation documentation seems to support that. It says "N/W 720kg GW 940kg"

This link seems to support 690KG for a '92

It may be worth checking at one of the self serve highway scales as those kerb weights are notoriously inaccurate (some will factor in a driver, or full tank of gas for example)  Plus it's an excuse to take it out for a drive ;)

Thanks, I'm pretty sure I saw that at Deerfoot Autox a few years back. My only regrets is that it's RHD, and it shakes like a mofo on at highway speeds... Should be interesting getting it out to an event, unless I rent/borrow a trailer for every event. Apparently the city frowns on storing them on the street.

Unless I am overlooking something you should be.  And the Mini you saw at Deerfoot was likely Rick and Mark, they have been running a very fast red Mini for a few years.

Could be. I know I saw Rick last year in Red Deer. Driver looked a lot younger at Deerfoot.

Does it have a central dash, if so its real easy to convert to LHD, I mean its a weekends work. You wont have seen my car, you may have seen the red Mini from Banff.

Nope, it's the full cluster in front of the driver. It's not the dash that concerns me, it's the pedals/steering rack.
