Red Deer event tomorrow? Anyone going?
« on: August 08, 2015, 05:36:38 PM »
I think there is an event at the Westerner run by the RDSS tomorrow.  I'm assuming it is a go but have not really heard anything/"boo" about it.

Anyone going?

I am going down with Daniel (Yellow Focus ST) so I can get some practice in for the event the week after

I'm swamped with work ... would be irresponsible to take the day off.  I need a new career.

Well that didn't go the way I was hoping. I have no idea why, but my car just got looser with every run regardless of where I kept the tire pressures. My best run of the day was the very first, and I got slower with every run that passed.

The worse part was I felt like my driving was improving, but my times were doing the opposite

Yeah it is a bit frustrating

Event was pretty good, great weather and the folks were all friendly. Got in 11 runs for 20$, great deal for seat time!

Been there, dun dat!  It was "hot" today and your tires were overheating ... getting greasier by the run.  Bet you did not spray/water down the tires between runs?

If you don't have a sprayer, you should buy one .... Home Depot, Revy, etc. have them ... don't get the really tiny ones ... but rather the medium at the least - think they are 2 gallons or more???

I was spraying like crazy, but didn't seem to help my case

I am almost wondering if my inter-cooler was just so heat soaked I was losing power. There was another Fiesta ST there with the same tires (but heavily modded so running in AWS class) that I noticed was slowing down as the day went on too.

I had originally come within a few hundredths of a second of his best with my first run, but the time wasn't posted at the end of the day.  I know they were having timing issues throughout the morning, so maybe it got erased, or just I coned it.

Overall I placed 2nd in PAX for the event and 6th in raw, James in his corvette took the top spot for both. Well done on his part!

Any chance of a picture of the type of sprayer you use Reijo ?

Speaking of sprayers... I've lost two now at Fort McLeod. A garden sprayer with a hose, and at the last event I lost my bottle sprayer.

I don't suppose anybody has seen them?

The lost sprayers could be in the storage locker that SASC rents at Fort Macleod.  If "stuff" is left behind, we pick them up and put them there ... Like most lost and founds, things accumulate over the years ...

Most places like Lowe's, Home Depot etc. carry these (usually for spraying plants etc.):

Just search for "sprayers" and they are usually in the gardening section of the store.
