GrantC in Edmonton discovered the same thing with NAPA axles. He had it snap on a launch, but it took out the ABS ring with it.

Got the original OEM half-axles put back on the car, and got a refund for the shitty ones.

I did the "CV joint swap" (http://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/241367-axle-bucket-inner-cv-joint-swap-diy-with-pics/) to the original half-axles, and the car no longer vibrates at any speed.  Guess I should have done that first...

Awesome... so does that mean we are going to see you at Red Deer this weekend?

So all that exhaust rattling on the weekend wasn't the exhaust -- I have a blown motor mount :(

Duct tape and zip ties.

You were driving the wheels off the s2k on Sunday - it was great to watch.

Not driving hard enough -- I just couldn't catch Tom in his STI.  I could try to blame it on being a power course, but it really wasn't all that bad for the S2000 either.

Blame the motor mount. Too much torque flex meant you couldn't put it all down to the ground ;)

You don't need torque if your car is light  ;D

It sure explains the wheel hop on launch -- very disturbing.

I've got a similar but quieter noise ... maybe have to check my motor mounts too!   Which side blew up?

Right hand side.  It was collapsed entirely, while the left still had a visible gap at the top of the rubber.

Both of mine were shot.  Cam replaced them today, and what a difference!  I think I have had a broken mount for a long time.  Car no longer shudders when starting or stopping the engine, and vtec has got a real kick compared to what I was used to.
