Can a 4cyl. Camaro beat the mighty M3 of Jeff Cashmore (won FS) and the Camaro SS's?

Weather is not a factor and DS is running in the 1st heat in fact (right now).

SS is running now on the east course and Ambrose is in 2nd place with a good first run but the 2nd (and typically fastest) drivers are to come yet.

Live broadcast is working on the west course but not on the east course where SS is running.  However the live results are coming through.

Jess coned her first run ... 2 more attempts!

Jay is mowing down cones ... 4 in the first run.  Maybe he went through a wall?

Ambrose in 4th (8 trophies) after 1st runs.  Notably Scott Fraser (day 1 leader) ran almost an identical time to Ambrose ... but the current leader ran a second faster on his first run.

Jess cleans up her run ... but could be faster ... in 4th 0.3 behind 3rd.  She can pick up the pace some more on the last run.

Only 1 cone for Jay this time but still slowish ... Ambrose lost one place (but 0.3 faster on the 2nd run) so still solidly in the trophies - 5th.   Scott Fraser took over the lead again on his 2nd run.

And Scroggs in DS in his 4cyl Camaro has beat FS on both courses!  Maybe they will re-class it with all the other Camaro SS's and Mustang GT's in FS?

Nice trophies for Jess and Ambrose.  Can't wait to see what Cam, Stephen and Orieta do later.

Yes, for sure!  Jess got the other gal by 0.080 to 3rd ... nice come-back.  The one gal (?) JF (Jodie?) did not show or do any runs so I don't know if Jess will get a trophy or not?  Not sure how that works.

And, for Ambrose, I think this is his 2nd trophy at Nats ... got a 6th (I think?) in SS back in 2009 when he got lucky with rain.  All the 2nd drivers drove in a deluge and were completely out of it.  Ambrose had rain drops on the windshield but then again he had to get a clean run that time and he did that so it was deserved in my opinion.  Notably, Ambrose beat Monty Pack for the first time this year (by 0.020!).  Sports Car mentioned Monty as being one of the people who could win. 

So, congrats to Ambrose and Jess!

then a 1/2 hr. to walk the course (typical after the 2nd heats every day) followed by the 3rd heat when Orieta will be running in SSL.

Cam and Stephen will be running in the 4th heat in AS.
