Im not sure how this 1st event will go as far as crowds/spectators but if we have a very successful day tomorrow, then I imagine it will be very busy the next event for crowds/spectators.  Definitely something to look at tomorrow and perhaps a specific few spots designated for spectators can be decided and possibly barricaded off to ensure we don't have spectators in the wrong place at the wrong time.  Im sure Reijo will have some experience from US National events that he can share with us and help keep everyone safe.  I would guess we will need at least 1-2 crowd control Marshall's tomorrow and possibly more in the future.

We don't usually get many spectators even down south but there is plenty of room near the pits and adjacent areas for spectators....they just cannot go out on the course.

The lot may have standing water tomorrow, and lots of it......If you own a floor squeegee, I recommend bringing it tomorrow morning so that if puddles are present and in the way, we can spread the water out and it should dry quick enough to only affect the first few runs. I have a broom/squeegee that I will bring tomorrow as well.

As for places to have lunch:

1.  Tim Horton's at the NW corner of 19th ST. NE/100th Avenue NE

2.  DQ and Mac's (and ESSO incidentally) on the east side of the airport.   Go through the tunnel on Airport Trail, turn left (north) on the east side and first light (NE corner) there is DQ and Mac's store (which also has the ESSO).

Others are further away ... like Deerfoot Mall, the airport itself (parking costs money), Cross Iron Mills, and into Country Hills/Harvest Hills etc.

With such a large group, maybe 2 novice coordinators? If nobody else steps up I'd be happy to do it.

If we need additional helpers, I can be available. I think Zach B, Haider M, and Ryan S will also be able to help out.

I guess we're still rookies? But I think we know enough collectively that we should be able to  help out.

What time will onsite registration check-in be closing? I thought I saw 9 o'clock somewhere, but there's nothing listed on Motorsportreg.com.

Ah yes, almost forgot, registration WILL close prompt at 9.00am. Please remember your:
(a) Tech form
(b) Registration
(c) Cash if not already paid
(d) WCMA affiliated club card
(e) Driving Licence

Can I also encourage all participants to get into the habit of arriving at the lot and going straight to registration before starting work on their cars, that way we eliminate the line ups, (wasted time) and it makes it much smoother for the girls doing registration.

That would be great.  You don't have to know "everything" .... Anything you are not familiar with, just say so and also that you can ask about it from one of the people who has been around longer.  There are all kinds of interesting things about not just cars/classes/driving techniques but also how larger events should be run ...

Well done today chaps. I had a blast socializing and getting some ride alongs.

Let me know if I can offer my services at the next YYC event. I won't be driving but I can help out.
