Hello - New to autocross/solosport

Hello there -- I'm new to motorsports although I have been interested in cars for many years. I'm hoping to try out a few different car events this summer, including autocross/solosport, and stumbled across this group.

I'm currently driving an unmodified 2005 Cadillac CTS-V. With a long wheelbase and hefty weight it's not ideal for autocross (unfortunately, I sold my S2000 a few years back...) but it's my all-purpose car and I'm excited to learn on it. Either way, I'm sure the driver needs more work than the car!

I'll be dropping by the monthly meeting tonight to say hello, although I'm not a member yet -- I hope that's alright.

Hi there, Matt!  Nice to meet you last night!  I hope we did not bore you with all our technicalities of trying to get prepared for the first events of the year.  This year we have a number of changes with different formats and everything to hash out so we have a bit more to discuss etc. 

Nevertheless, you met a few of us there!  And a fine bunch they are!   Thanks for coming out everyone!  I think it'll be a great season ahead of us!

You'll do just fine - there's a handful of us running vehicles that are traditionally too long/big/heavy to be ultra competitive.  But you pick up skill anyways, and meet some nice people.
