Hi Reijo,

Is registration open for the January 15th event? I tried via Motorsportsreg and it says the registration is "suspended".

Great!   Look forward to meeting you two!  Nothing like studded tires for winter!

Hello! New here.. Just moved in Feb of last year and just today I discovered the winter events! Looking forward to it. Hoping to register for the 15th. Curious about the BMW club training, I can't seem to find any info on it! Driving a 2010 335xi, can't wait to play in the snow!

Welcome!

The BMW Club event is open only for their members and we are basically organizing the event for them.

You can always join their club if you want to participate with them.  They are a fine club and will be supplying some instructors for their school with the remainder from our club.  Here's a link to their club page  (Gary Ledbetter is organizing the Winter Driver Training):

http://www.bmwcsa.ca/

Otherwise, you may also enter one of our regular schools.

OK ... I'm going to make the Dec. 31 school a regular school so if you or anyone you know is interested, please let them know this is going to be a regular winter driving school ....

This is for this coming Saturday.

Also, if we do not have very many students, we'll do some instructor training/refreshing .... and generally have a ton of fun!   :)

So, if you have not been at one of these, come out now.   Classroom at 8 am at the Day's Inn in Cochrane for an hour then to Ghost Lake 17 km. west of Cochrane for the remainder of the day (until about 4 pm) on the ice.

And, of course, there is plenty of ice .... 15-17" a week ago.

And a belated Merry Christmas to one and all!

Heading to Ghost Lake this afternoon.  Anyone interested in coming along?  Want to check the ice, snow drifts and where we can set up for tomorrow.

Great day yesterday at the lake - sincere thanks to Reijo and all the instructors who made this possible. Always a great learning event and a place to do so safely.

Thanks!  Yes, I thought it went really well overall also.  We had some issues with course design ... just more difficult when the "snow dunes" move around and change day-to-day ...
