Help for course set-up Saturday afternoon.
« on: April 14, 2017, 12:21:46 PM »
Paul T., Bill R. and I will be meeting at the Public Storage (90 Country Hills Landing NW) at 12:30 pm Saturday to pick up cones and set up the courses for Sunday.

Another hand or two would be nice if there is someone looking for something to do.  It would take about 2 hours to set up I figure since it will be a fairly simple course and we are not lining the course etc.

Thanks Paul and Bill!  Help is always appreciated greatly!

Do you think you'll be able to haul everything in one go?

I too could come meet at the storage facility with my truck if you think it's needed. If not, I'll just bring my car tomorrow and help with loading/course setup.

I think Bill is bringing his truck and Paul is bringing the Land Rover.  I was going to bring my car since my truck has some problems right now (long story ... runs but I should not be driving it right now)....so if you bring your truck it would be good and we could certainly make a single trip and be done with it.

I brought some new cones directly to the site yesterday so that is another 80 or so cones we don't have to move from the storage to YYC.

Mind you the storage is something like 4 km. away ... not too far if we need any extra trips.

With 2 trucks for sure we are good.

BTW, thanks for the extra volunteers, guys!

Just thinking about it right now, we "can" probably use the extra help because we are also setting up a novice course that is separate from the "practice course" that is shown on the map.

The "novice course" will be set up on the 320'x730' lot to the NE of the main lot so we'll have to figure out where the tech area and trailer parking will be (the usual place Bill parks his rig) ... and leave room for guest parking etc.  The "novice course" will be tighter and more compact and serves a different purpose than the bigger practice course.

I don't have a map for it right now although I did start working on it.  I think due to some rough spots I saw on the course (when I was there yesterday), it is best to just bring a map and make the course "fit" the lot and then draw a "community" map to display for everyone, or something like that if you know what I mean.

Suffice to say help is needed and appreciated.  So thank you for volunteering!

What time would you want us at YYC.  I can come up there from 1 to 4 today.

I will likely come help set up tomorrow.

Doesn't look like I'm going to make it, but I'll be there early tomorrow to help out with whatever I can.
