I will be taking the STI down for both events again this year. Derek will be co-driving both as well.

5 of the 12 entries (cap 300) are from Alberta.    :)

I have an event this upcoming weekend at the VCMA venue... depending on how that goes, I will decide if I am going to do nationals, haha

I still don't think I am where I need to be to be competitive though

You should plan on going to Packwood anyway.  It gives you some much needed experience in how a national event is run, and you really, really don't want Lincoln to be your first experience.

You should do the Cdn. Nats (I am assuming that is the one you are referring to?) for sure since it is right there and I am sure you will do fine at the VCMC event with your ability.  Or you should anyway imo.

Packwood, is about 5 hours one way so you should do those ... both the Pro and Tour (consecutive weekends).

Or if you were referring to the SCCA Nats, I'd recommend it ... just for the experience.....and why not trophy?  Just go for it.to

Part of the formula for winning at the big events is simply just going there to experience them and get used to the "big format" if you will.....and being comfortable with how things are run, being where you need to be when you need to be there, etc.  Things happen fast and there is structure to the event that you need to get familiar with and the only way to do that is to show up and compete ... spend the time there.  See what the fast guys do and how they prepare, what lines they use, how they drive, what equipment and preparation they have.  It can be quite an education!  So just do it.    :)

Something to note:  The big events, despite the tough competition and hectic pace of everything, is that the people are still very friendly in autox and you'll make friends from across the continent which is always cool.  And the events are just fun.   :)

Opps, I thought this was for Canadian Nationals, I saw that you and Joe had signed up for that when I was looking at the entry list

Mostly I just want to be feeling confident in my driving before I do a national event. It is a lot of money for not very many runs.

Canadian Nationals will be quite a few runs.  They are running 2 courses per day over the 2 days, so you will get 12 runs.
