yeah that isn't a real e-mail, haha. Ok thanks, I will try to login and change it

Ok.... well, in that case please sign me up for whatever he is, otherwise it could be very interesting trying to share the car  ;D

33
Thanks for the reply Reijo! It isn't a big deal for me anymore as I am sharing a car with Dan and he is in L1/L2

34
Ok, I could only signed up for L1... every time I added L2, it removed L1.. and vice versa

Basically... I need to be in the same courses as Dan O (I think he is signed up for L1/L2) because we are sharing his car. Also booking a flight in and a hotel in FM.

No, everything is on hold until I finalize the sale on my place right now... which, unless this goes sideways (which it has now several times), is tomorrow  :D  I plan to start doing events next month for their cup series.

I also plan to sign up for the solo pro school hopefully tomorrow, then fly out and Mr. Dan-O will be splitting his car with me for the school.

It arrived this morning, whoo hooo... 2 day prime shipping, lol

Really nice jack overall, it breaks down with no tools and is so light compared to my old one. Going to be a great addition to my pit-kit

That was the one I was considering actually, might still get it if this one doesn't pan out for some reason. It is supposed to arrive tomorrow, so I guess we will see if I get a jack or an empty cardboard box, lol.

As you can see, after I ordered it somebody went "Oh crap..." and raised the price!

Just a quick update. I've been watching a number of items at Canadian Tire, Princess Auto, and on Amazon. Settled on this jack this week:

Allstar pit 6-pump Aluminium Pit Jack:

I picked it up off Amazon for under 200$ CAD including shipping  :)

I noticed today they raised the price to 690$ CAD + 512$ shipping, LOL!!

So last year I signed up for the extreme school and put my deposit down, when it didn't get enough people and it was scrapped, all of the other spots were already all full and I ended up out in the cold on the wait list.

Now luckily last time it all worked out... however I'd like to avoid being in that situation again. So should I just reserve a spot in all of the programs, or is there a way I can just put a deposit for 2 days and have it applied to whichever program is actually available?

This picture is a visual image of my current plan to pay deposits to double book programs:

I purchased two Hondas today, will likely skip prepping the FiST this season and race one of the Hondas (in a stupid class).

There isn't much to prep on a FiST... basically it just needs tires and it is competitive in HS

So I am giving up my 106lb cast iron floor jack in hopes of finding something a bit more portable this year. Does anybody have some suggestions for a decent lightweight jack that won't break the bank?

Transportation Canada regs are pretty strict. It doesn't allow drones to operate within 9km around airports, which is basically our venues. It also doesn't allow them to operate within 150m from people, animals, buildings, structures, or vehicles (and under 90m high).

Maybe we should look at a SoloPro School out at Pitt Meadows?   :)

Not a bad idea.  I'm sure there would be interest in it from the drivers.  Not sure how the local clubs would feel about it since VCMC and UBC both run their own schools.  In my opinion (which is often unpopular  :P) I think you are offering a different/higher level of training than the locals.

Really looking forward to running in Pitt Meadows with you guys... and in March! Such an early start, this is going to be so awesome!

Why wait so long?  The UBC Sports Car Club runs all winter.  There's a race Sunday actually, but due to winter actually hitting Vancouver it's just been turned into non-points event with some rules about winter tires etc.  www.ubcscc.com

It would be really great if Solo Pro came to Vancouver! No matter how many times I take the program (I think 3 times now?), I learn something new that helps me get a little bit faster.

I can't really get rolling right now, my Fiesta came with dedicated summer tires and my only other tires are RE-71R's... not great for winter driving, haha. I am also in the middle of getting into a new apartment and trying to get all of my gear together in once place. I ditched my car on the Island at my folks place until I can get a second parking stall for it in Vancouver. I need to get a new helmet too... was going to order it online, but I forgot what size my old one was!

Hey thanks for your input Brian!

I am totally in the dark about the Velocity schools, so I really appreciate you posting your insight!

Depending on how things shake out over the next little while I am still considering signing up for both schools, I always see value in getting some seat time and getting feedback on my driving from people with experience.

Really looking forward to running in Pitt Meadows with you guys... and in March! Such an early start, this is going to be so awesome!
