I bought 2 sets of TRS FF10 wheels from Tirerack. They are about 6 pounds lighter than the OEM wheels.

Have you have gone with the conventional wisdom of fitting the big front bar ?
Yes. It is needed in the front to keep the inside rear tire planted, and thus allow the LSD to function properly. Edit: Also, the car oversteers in OEM trim, so the front sway also tames that. I would think a bigger rear sway bar would do very bad things to the driving balance of this car.

I have my new sway bar and shocks on the car, and the some "spirited" driving around slippery corners show the Miata's suspension is much more neutral than I could ever obtain with the S2000. This brings up some questions about tuning my sway bar and shocks.
Do I set the sway bar stiffness for neutral balance in mid corner and use the shocks to dial in desired understeer/oversteer on corner entry?
If yes to the above, what do I aim for with shock stiffness? i.e. Do I aim for the stiffest shock settings possible that remain compliant with the venue's surface? Or do I go for the softest, most compliant shock settings while still maintaining the desired balance?
I am worried that if I go too stiff with rebound, the car will "jack" down onto the bump stops and stay there for the entire run. Or is that a good thing, because the bump stops give me a very high effective spring rate?

This begs the question -- why 2 Hondas?

A two day event on the weekend before the nationals would make for a great practise event, and a good stop for people driving out to Pitt Meadows for the nationals.

Done. For future requests, could people please send me a PM, just to stop cluttering up the forum. Be sure to give me your motorsportreg account name, since I am old and easily forget which person matches up to a particular forum name Don't worry Tom, I remembered yours

Both Jo and I can't wait to race the thing. Just need to break in the engine, get the sway bar and shocks mounted, get an alignment, and get racing wheels and tires. Oh, I guess we also need to wait until racing season begins

If you send me your motorsportreg account name, I can add your name to the reserved numbers in there. Of course, that only works if you use motorsportreg to sign up for events.

What is the number? It may already conflict with one used by a member.
Reservation of a number is a bit problematic in any case. Our events are usually attended by members of multiple clubs, so there is almost always a conflict or two. It is always best to have numbers that can be switched around to make alternates. And always bring masking tape in case that fails too.

I really like the DW for a non competition tire.
It is also my favourite. Noticeable increase in fuel economy, totally silent, and handles even a total flood on the road. At autocross, it squeals like a wounded pig and isn't all that fast.

I just noticed that you were planning on only a few autocross events this year. If so, then I think you could find something more suitable than the RE-71R. They do wear out quickly, and they aren't exactly quiet (or soft) on the street. You might prefer the RE760 or the Continental DW.
